There's more in you than you think – Kurt Hahnh

Outward Bound Ecuador (OBE) participants can earn Academic Credits on our Semester Leadership Program. OBE and OBI have a partnership with Western State College in Colorado, from who you can get an official credit transcript that are transferable to a majority of universities in the U.S.

Other way to receive academic credits from our semester programs is from your own academic institution. Credits may be recognized by your school prior to attendance of the course. Please download the OBE Credit Program Letter.

Important information for participants who want to apply for credits:

  • You should check with your academic institution BEFORE enrolling into the OBE program in order to guarantee that you´ll be able to transfer or receive the academic credits you desire.
  • In order for students to register for college credits through WSC, they should contact Erica Boucher at eboucher@western.edu to fill up forms B and C of the registration packet and pay for the credits to Western before they depart for their course. Students CANNOT earn credits after a course has been completed.
  • Students must successfully complete the OB course, write and submit a paper and have their OB instructors fill out an instructor evaluation form. Outward Bound Ecuador then returns that form directly to WSC. A WSC assigns the student a grade (S or U). Then, WSC sends the student an official transcript.
