Group Leadership
   Course Description:

The Leadership Semester Program Ecuador is a great combination of adventure activities and interaction with ecuadorian culture. Ecuador is a little andean country with a great variety of ecositems. We will learn leadership skills while climbing high glacier peaks, paddling on a raft through jungle rivers, scuba dive with sharks in Galapagos, and many more activities.  The semester Leadership course includes some interesting Certifications for those adventurous souls, besides the opportunity to apply for College credits through the Western State College in Colorado.


 
 Cerfification Description

WFA Certification: Wilderness First Aid Certifcation; this course will be prepare participants to recognize and handle with medical and traumatic injuries in a wilderness location.
Swift Water Rescue: 3 -4 day white water rescue certification, certified by the  International Rafting Federation.
Whitewater river guide License: two week course that will prepare participants to guide a 14 - 16 foot river raft.  Certified by the International Rafting Federation.
PADI Scuba Certification: PADI certification conducted in Galapagos Islands, one of tyhe best places for scuba diving in the World.
ABC I, II, III:  Soft skills  for group dynamics, certified by Outward Bound School Ecuador.

Part 1         Leadership  training (14 days)
WAFA Certification at OB School Ecuador (International Certification)
Training Courses on soft skills for group dinamics, level I - III.
Adventure Leadership course.  Will prepare students to lead adventure expeditions including the following activities:
       Mid Mountaneering skills and backpacking
       Expedition planning and execution
       Adventure safety and gear.
 

 Part 2  Mountaineering at Ecuador Andes (17 days)
     
Glacier course and climbing skill.
      Using the skills learned participants will lead a two week mountaineering expedition
      Summit attempts to various mountains including Cotopaxi
      Solo at mountain environment.

 
 Part 3  Jungle Home stays and White Water Rafting Guiding Course (22 days)
Backpacking from the highlands to the jungle, through amazing rainforest.
Indigenous community home stay at the ecuadorian jungle
Two week Rafting Guiding course on rivers class III
Swift water rescue course (FIRST Aid course at river, specific for water adventures)

   
 Part 4 
Galapagos adventure + PADI Certification (16 days)
PADI scuba certification
Island adventure at Isabela, the biggest and wildest Island of the archipielago
       Backpacking and camping at Sierra Negra volcanic area.
       Horsebackriding on solidified lava fields,  and visit to the sulfur mines and active volcanoes
       Visit to the habitat of the gigantic Galapagos turtle
       Snorkeling and Kayaking on clear water, great opportunity to watch amazing undersea life.
       Scuba trip at Santa Cruz area
       Big Solo.
   Part 5  
Closing and return home
Closing at Quito
Return back home
